Plasti Dip & Liquid Wrap Services

Liquid wrap, also referred to as Liquid Vinyl Wrap or by its brand name Halo EFX, is a reversible polymer coating which has a smooth shell-like finish that is durable and easily removable. Halo EFX provides similar capabilities to Vinyl Wrap and its competitor PlastiDip in that it allows you to completely change the color of your vehicle or parts on your vehicle, while also protecting the paint underneath.

Plastidip Wheels

Looking for an easy, affordable color change for your wheels? Plasti dip and Liquid Vinyl are a great solution for an affordable color change that will also provide a layer of protection for your wheels from the elements. Available in a wide variety of colors, plastidip and liquid vinyl HaloEfx offer a removable coating to your wheels that will protect your investment from the elements, brake dust, and road debris to help prevent scratches, dents, and dings.

At our Phoenix plastidip shop, we have the right equipment and expertise to complete your plasti dip project on time and on budget. Liquid vinyl and plastidip can be challenging to get right. Our technicians will ensure your plasti dipped wheels look as if they were sprayed from the factory. Don’t settle for a rattle can job in your backyard that will end with bubbles, drips, high/low spots, and rough edges. We have the commercial grade spray equipment that will help your investment not only look fantastic, but will last longer than a month before chipping and peeling.

Emblem Dipping

Plastidip is great solution if you want to change the color of your factory emblems. Plasti dipping emblems is quick, affordable, and removable making is the best option for emblem black outs or paint color matching. Thanks to the advancements in plasti dip technology over the recent years, plastidip even offers clear coating and glossifers than can make your make your liquid vinyl look exactly like paint.

At Apex Customs Phoenix, we offer a wide variety of solutions to customize your car and truck emblems. If you’re on the fence about plasti dipping your emblem, we also offer vinyl wrap or if you have a metal emblem we could even powder coat it for a durable finish.

Plastidipped Grilles

Looking to get rid of that chrome grille that is ruining your custom ride? Plastdip and HaloEfx are a perfect option for a grille color change. Most grilles today are made about of ABS plastic which makes it impossible to powder coat. In addition, grilles often have intricate patterns that also make them nearly impossible to vinyl wrap. Plast dip on the other hand is perfect application, it is affordable, easy to use, and best of all removable.

At our Phoenix liquid vinyl shop, our skilled technicians will spray your grille in a professional paint booth using professional grade liquid vinyl spray equipment. Unlike our competition who sprays plasti dip out of rattle cans in a parking lot, our certified technicians will give your plastidip project a professional, lasting application.

Plasti Dipped Automotive Trim

Does that chrome trim on your ride need to go? Plastidip and liquid vinyl are affordable, durable, and removable which make them the perfect solution for changing the color of your car, truck, Jeep, or van trim. Automotive trim, which is often made out of ABS plastic, can’t be powder coated which typically offers the most durable solution. Traditional paint requires that the factory finish be sanded down in order to create a lasting bond on the plastic. Plastidip on the other hand, can simply be sprayed on and peeled off when you’re ready to change colors.

At Apex Customs Phoenix, we are automotive experts. Unlike our competition who just sprays plastidip while the part is still on the car, our skilled technicians have the expertise and tools to professionally remove the parts, spray them in an environmentally controlled paint booth with professional liquid vinyl spray equipment, and reinstall the part so it looks like it came from the factory.

Plasti Dipped Car & Truck Parts

Do you have any parts on your car, truck, suv, or motorcycle that aren’t metal but still need a color change? Typically we recommend any automotive part that is exposed to the elements, road debris, dirt and dust, to be powder coated. However plastic and rubber parts can’t be powder coated because they can’t withstand the heat required to bake the powder, nor will they hold the electrical charge required for the powder application. Plastidip is a good solution for changing the color of automotive rubber and plastic parts. It’s removable, affordable, and durable.

At our Phoenix plastidip shop, we can plastidip or liquid wrap any automotive part you bring our way. We have the tools, equipment, and expertise to ensure that your part looks fantastic and lasts longer than a rattle can job.

Features of Liquid Vinyl

Halo Efx Features

Durability and Protection

Halo EFX is tried and trusted for its durability and versatility. At Apex Customs Phoenix, our shop started by offering PlastiDip as one of our primary offerings. We quickly learned that when it comes to automotive applications that are subject to harsh environments, debris, and vibrations, that Plasti Dip just didn’t stand up to its reputation in the automotive world. As a result, we sought out the experts in the industry to find an alternative product that offered the same flexibility and versatility as Plasti-Dip, but offered enhanced durability as well as color and finish options. Halo EFX was the answer. It is impervious to salts, moisture, acids, and bases and looks incredible when installed properly.

Unique Look in Color and Clear

Halo EFX offers a finish that is smooth to the touch and has a look similar to vinyl wrap. Available in a wide variety of primary colors and pigments, it also offers a clear coat option to provide that glossy OEM look to your vehicles liquid wrapped parts. There are a variety of pearls, pigments and flakes which provide a near limitless number of custom colors to match your vehicles custom project.

What Are Pearls?

The biggest advancement in PlastiDip and Liquid Wrap technology was the release of pearls. Pearls are essentially tiny flakes or pigments which appear as a fine powder. Pearls allow you to tint and color a gallon of removable rubber coating giving it a unique, stylish look.

There is a variety of pearl styles or categories such as ghost pears, candy pears, and chameleon pearls. Each of these styles behave differently. Candy pearls allow you to get a vibrant solid color whereas chameleon pearls, which are also referred to as color changing pearls, will give you an iridescent effect in your final product. Chameleon colors will change colors depending on the lighting and angle you look at them.

Ghost pearls are intended to be sprayed over a white car to provide a subtle splash of color which gives the vehicle a “ghosting” effect. Ghost pearls are a white powder that is applied to a clear PlastDip or Liquid Vinyl Wrap.

PlastiDip Q&A

How long does liquid wrap and plastidip last?

When properly cared for and professionally installed, Halo EFX and PlastiDip can last up to 3 years without retouching or respraying. It is very durable and will not lose its bond. The spray distance when applying as well as the amount of coats applied will heavily determine the longevity of the product. One of the benefits of liquid wrap and plastidip is when damage occurs it’s easy to touch up or peel and re-spray the part.

Will plastidip or liquid wrap damage the paint on my car?

In general no, plasti dip and liquid wrap will not damage the paint on your car. Both liquid wrap and plastidip are a rubber/vinyl product that is easily removed by peeling off the surface of your car without damage to your vehicle. If plastidip or liquid vinyl is improperly installed, there have been reports of plastidip pulling off the vehicles paint during removal. This is generally limited to aftermarket paint that was applied without the metal being properly prepped. Another potential risk is vinyl wrap and plastidip has a tendency to end up in cracks and crevasse it wasn’t intended to be. This can make removal extremely difficult leaving you will scraps of rubber in places you will never be able to reach.

At our Phoenix plasti dip shop, we made the decision a few years ago to stop offering complete vehicle dips. We ran into too many issues with the performance and longevity of the product. As a result we only apply liquid vinyl and plasti dip to parts and wheels that can be removed from the vehicle.

Will Plasti Dip and Liquid Vinyl hold up to heat and racing?

PlastiDip is heat resistant up to 200 degrees F. Dipped wheels have a great record when it comes to holding up to the heat and abuse from racing or rally events. There are many amateur race vehicles that have Plasti Dip and Liquid Vinyl applied to various parts on the vehicle.

How does PlastiDip and Liquid Vinyl hold up to gasoline?

Plasti Dip is a solvent based coating and does not hold up to gasoline! Please be careful when filling your tank or working with gasoline around a dipped surface. If your plastidipped part does come into contact with gasoline, we recommend peeling the entire surface of the part and reapplying a brand new coat as reapplying PlastiDip and Liquid vinyl over a part that has been exposed to gasoline can cause issues with durability and longevity.

Does Plast Dip and Liquid Vinyl really peel off?

Yes, Plasti-Dip and Halo Efx does peel off. We always suggest a minimum of 4-5 coats, not only for durability, but to make sure it peels off in large pieces when you are ready. It will peel off even after a long period of time – however after extreme lengths of time (8-12 months), it may dry out a bit and come off in smaller pieces.

Will Plasti Dip and Liquid Vinyl work exactly the same on every car, every surface?

Although PlastiDip and Liquid Vinyl works and behaves exactly the same for most users, there are certainly specific circumstances in which the Plasti-Dip does not behave as expected. The age of the car, the condition of the clear coat, if you have already done a DIY paint job on the surface, etc. are all possible factors that could impact the way the Plasti-Dip bonds, peels, or the covers. Although most users will have a predictable and trouble-free experience with dip, we suggest you do a small test spot on the surfaces you will be dipping before you begin your project.

Could Plasti Dip or Liquid Vinyl damage my clear coat? has reported using Plasti-Dip on cars for over 7 years, and we have experienced relatively minor damage to the cars we have dipped, peeled and re-dipped. However, every car and every situation is unique. Even with Plasti-Dip and Halo Efx’s great track record, we still recommend dipping a small test spot on your car before dipping the entire thing. Especially consider longer test phases with cars that have been re-painted. Every paint shop will use different types and amounts of clear coat – both Plasti-Dip and Halo Efx can’t possibly guarantee the exact same result on every unique paint job.

How should I wash the dipped areas of my car?

Dipped automotive parts can be easily hand washed with regular car wash soap. We highly recommend a well-known DipWasher and DipWash combo which is available at our shop for sale.

What colors can I choose for my car’s vinyl wrap?

Vinyl Wrap can come in almost any conceivable color, finish or texture. Check out the 3M selection of colors and finishes here.

Can I use Plasti Dip or Liquid Wrap as a clear protective bra for the front of my car?

Yes, many customers have utilized the clear Plasti-Dip product as a protective clear bra with great success. While it doesn’t offer the same longevity and durability that 3M clear bra material offers, Plasti Dip is a good potential affordable option for protecting the front painted surfaces of your car, truck, or SUV.

Can I PlastiDip or Liquid Wrap over head lights and tail lights?

In our experience, we have found that Plasti-Dip can be applied to and does peel easily off most lights. However, we have found a few types of head lights or tail lights do not respond well with Plasti-Dip. As always, we recommend that you apply a small amount of PlastiDip to your light for testing before spraying the entire light assembly.

Will Plasti Dip or Liquid Wrap protect my wheels from the salt and snow on the roads during the winter?

PlastiDip and Halo Efx are both extremely resistant to the elements, including winter ice, cold, salt etc. A lot of customers actually dip their wheels and cars specifically to protect the original surfaces from the winter season.

Since PlastiDip and Liquid Wrap are easy to peel off, will it come off on the highway?

No, PlastiDip and Liquid Wrap create a chemical reaction between the vehicle. The coats of liquid wrap will allow it to adhere to the surface and create a strong bond. It will only come off when it is forcefully peeled off. Some examples of things that could happen to your PlastiDip or Liquid Wrap: hitting a guard rail, curb rashing your wheels, someone keying it, scrapping against a jersey wall, or actually peeling it by hand to go back to your original paint.

Can I cover a black car in white Plasti Dip or Liquid Wrap?

Yes, many customers have dipped a black car white. It just takes more product to do so which could mean a higher cost. If you plan on dipping your black car white, prepare to go through at least 3 gallons to do so. Better to have extra than not enough
